There are many motifs seen in today's Kanchi sarees. But the everlasting, many centuries old motifs are the Mayil and Chakram. The motifs seen in the Kanchi weaves are inspirations taken from day to day lives , from the temples and from the surroundings around us.

The majestic mayil symbolizes Royalty,  beauty and grace and is also the Vahana or vehicle of Lord Muruga.  The Chakra or Chakram motif is the wheel of life design. Kanchipuram was one of the important places in southern India to have a strong presence of Buddhism and Jainism. We all know the circle of life is a part of the above two religions and this inspired the weavers to weave on the sarees.  There is also a line in Tamizh that says " Vazhkai oru vattum" meaning that life is a circle. It infers that what goes up will come down.

We have designed a high quality kemp pendant in the fish design with agates, kemp line separator. This comes with matching fish ear studs with kemp stones.

Saree can be purchased with or without the jewelry.
